JOB TITLE: OPERATIONS AND PROGRAMME MANAGER

POSITION SUMMARY:
Holocaust Education Ireland seeks to appoint a full-time Operations
and Programme Manager TO OVERSEE THE GENERAL ADMINISTRATION OF THE
ORGANISATION AND OF ITS EDUCATION PROGRAMMES AND PUBLIC EVENTS.
Holocaust Education Ireland (HEI) is a small, vibrant, independent
non-profit organisation that promotes Holocaust education, awareness
and remembrance throughout the island of Ireland. Programmes for
schools, teachers and the general public range from small bespoke
courses to large public events such as the Holocaust Memorial Day
commemoration.

The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with the
Director, co-ordinating the administration of the office and all of
the activities undertaken by the organisation. Continuous professional
development within the role should be considered. As many of HEI’s
programmes and events take place at weekends or in the evenings, a
flexible approach to organising these is appreciated, taking time off
in lieu when they occur.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
OPERATIONS
* Carry out comprehensive secretarial and administrative duties to
ensure the smooth running of the HEI office. These include dealing
with email and telephone enquiries, as well as arranging appointments
and meetings.
* Assist Company Secretary by taking minutes at Board Meetings.
* Administration and management of records and databases, including
filing and updating records in the office and on Google Drive.
* Keep expenditure records, ensuring the office maintains good
bookkeeping standards - using Xero and managing online banking.
* Maintain good governance, compliance (i.e. Governance Code, CRO,
CRA)
* Assisting in social media management (i.e. uploading content and
answering queries)
* Prepared to undertake professional training, as appropriate.
* Prepared to attend meetings and seminars when appropriate.
* Prepared to undertake other duties as appropriate.
PROGRAMME MANAGEMENT
* Administer and manage HEI’s education programmes, which include:
* The Crocus Project
* The Mary Elmes Prize in Holocaust Studies
* Living History
* The Holocaust Webinar: An Overview
* The Holocaust Narrative E-Learning Programme
* Transition Year and Senior Cycle modules
* Manage and coordinate HEI’s outreach events, which include:
* National Holocaust Memorial Day commemoration
* Holocaust Memorial Lectures
* Study visits
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
* A third-level qualification
* Minimum 3 years in an operational or project management role
* Some knowledge of the Holocaust is appreciated but not essential
* Basic financial and bookkeeping knowledge
* Excellent IT skills, particularly in Google Workspace
* Basic social media platform knowledge
* Good design skills
* Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Organised and analytical approach to tasks
* Flexibility and adaptability
